HELP Country Director, Mr. Timo Stegelmann signed Memorandum on cooperation with the LEDIB programme director Mr. Carsten Lund and directors of Nis primary schools „Stefan Nemanja“ and „Ucitelj Tasa“ within the pilot project „Students’ entrepreneurship – contemporary teaching aids in promotion of students’ entrepreneurship“.
Pilot project ''Students’ entrepreneurship” aims at encouraging entrepreneurial spirit amongst the students of the primary school final year. Good information will help students to recognize quality ideas and the best way to realize them into viable business. Besides, the program is also about making final year students come up with the best decision on continuing their education.
For the need of this pilot activity HELP acquired purchase and provided installation of the contemporary teaching aids – “smart boards” with the additional equipment in the primary schools “Stefan Nemanja” and “Ucitelj Tasa” in Nis.
Introductory training on students’ entrepreneurship will be held by the professors of Faculty of Economics, University of Nis, from 8 – 12 June that is to be attended by the groups of 35 students from each school.

In the City hall in Nis, on June 4 2009, 90 clients who successfully passed two selection procedures, have put their signatures on grant contracts with HELP in the presence of the Royal Netherlands Ambassador Ron Van Dartel and German Ambassador Wolfram Maas.
Due to the large interest for this kind of support, beside 80 clients originally foreseen, the City of Nis decided to support 10 additional clients in agriculture business with its own funds. Out of 90 clients supported in total, 40 clients are engaged in agricultural activities while 31 in service and 19 in crafts activities.
Clients who signed the grant contracts with HELP will receive the equipment and material in the amount of up to 2.000,00 EUR.
HELP has already started the procedure of detail equipment specification check up in order to start standard purchase procedures (higher quantities will be announced through tenders, while the smaller quantities of equipment will be acquired in a standard three bids).
Along with in-kind grants the supported clients will be provided with business and vocational tailor-made trainings in order to secure the sustainability of their businesses.

The Ambassador of the Royal Netherland’s Embassy in Belgrade, Ron Van Dartel and the Ambassador of FR Germany in Belgrade, Wolfram Maas were in a two-day visit in the municipalities of Bujanovac and Pirot and the cities of Vranje and Nis.
During the visit, beside the talks with the presidents of the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo, the ambassadors had a chance to visit some of the HELP clients supported within the projects of local sustainable development in Bujanovac and Vranje.
At the meeting with the Mayor of Vranje Mr. Stojcic, the German Ambassador emphasized importance of further development of the South Serbia, promising to continue enticing investors from Germany to resume their businesses.
Both Ambassadors attended ceremonial signing of the 90 grant contracts in the City hall of Nis, within the project “Support to local sustainable development in the South Serbia”.
On the second day German Ambassador visited the municipality of Pirot and while talking to the president Mr. Vasic, he expressed his satisfaction with the high rate of success of the supported clients in Pirot and the sustainability of their businesses.
