Description: Within the frame of this programme,
HELP organized and monitored monthly distributions of basic food
provided by WFP to social pensioners (12kg of wheat flour, 1lit
of vegetable oil, 1kg of sugar and 1kg of beans per person). The
distribution started in Belgrade region first, to later gradually
include other regions, in the end covering almost all of Serbia.
Total number of beneficiaries covered in the end surpassed 100,000
on monthly basis. Local partners involved in the distribution on
distribution points were local Centres for Social Welfare, Pensioners
Syndicate "Nezavisnost", and local NGOs "Kolo srpskih
sestara" and "Decja istina".
