Description: The German organisation HELP – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V Mission to Serbia  implemented a winter-aid project funded by the German Government and the Organisation HELP in the amount of 40.000,00 EUR.  The 2006/2007 winter-aid project supported vulnerable groups in the municipalities of Vranje, Leskovac and Babusnica with essential hygiene and food items for the months of December 2006, January and February 2007. The project was coordinated by HELP Field Office in Nis.

HELP’s beneficiaries for the 2006/2007 winter-aid project were:

• 970 handicapped persons from Vranje municipality supported with hygiene essential items

• 200 beneficiaries from Leskovac Soup Kitchen, run by the local branch of the Serbian Red Cross, supported with can and fresh food items for a period of 2 months

• 114 refugees and IDP’s from the Collective Center Atina in Leskovac supported with can and fresh food for a period of 3 months

• Primary boarding school  “Dobrinka Bogdanovic”, Babusnica, supported with firewood, winter clothes, food and hygiene
