Description:
Within the project “Assistance Programme for IDPs through Alternative Housing Solutions and Income Generation Support“, realized by HELP during 2007/2008, 48 apartments in Kraljevo were constructed for providing alternative temporary housing solutions for IDP families from collective centers and for vulnerable families among local population.

The donors of this Project were the European Commission (42 apartments) and the German Foundations “Erlenbach”, “Sternstunden e.V.” (6 apartments).

In accordance with the previous project, HELP finalized in Kraljevo 48 apartments, but thanks to the building design and available funds HELP used the opportunity to prepare the construction of additionally 12 apartments up to the phase of interior works and these apartments will be finalized within this project.  

This project is consisting of two components:
1)IGA component – supporting 20 start-up businesses with in-kind grants average value of EUR 2,000, business and vocational trainings as well as with business counseling.
2) Construction component - finalizing the aforementioned 12 apartments (9 for refugees, IDPs and local population families currently living in Kraljevo and 3 for children who are leaving the Homes for children without parental care).

Current activities:
1)         IGA component - Based on its standard procedures, within the project activities HELP finished the procurement and completely delivered all equipment/material to the supported clients who have also successfully managed to register their businesses.
Also, performance of community service has been successfully organized.

2)         Construction component: Construction works on 12 apartments are finished.
Beneficiary selection for the 9 apartments is started.
For 3 apartments the selection of children who are leaving the Homes for children without parental care will be in the competence of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
