Vesna Jovanovic, born in 1963, from Kraljevo is a mother of three underage children. At the beginning of 2004 she loses her job as well as her monthly income. A difficult financial situation in which she found herself in, had the effect on creating the idea for starting her own business but the lack of financial means prevented her from realization of that idea.
The possibility of resolving the arisen problem was taking a credit from a bank but she failed due to the fact that she was not fulfilling the criteria for credit.
In May 2004 HELP-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe ev. has started with the realization of the program
"Poverty reduction through support to start-up businesses and socio-economic integration of refugees and IDPs" and Vesna saw the possibility of realization of her idea and she asked for HELP's support.
Vesna is involved in the production of the concrete blocks of various shapes and sizes used for covering the balconies, backyards and other surfaces. Previously, she was involved in this activity from time to time, but after receiving the professional concrete mixer as a donation worth 1200 EUR which enabled her to perform more work faster and with more quality, she started to be seriously engaged in this activity.
She registered her activity thus providing herself with the possibility of cooperation with the great number of companies and spreading the scope of her business.
Her plans for future are perfecting and broadening the knowledge from this area and business. Also, she is planning to broaden the scope of her products and officially employ one more worker.
Through this donation a young and ambitious woman was given a possibility to realize her dreams and secure a decent livelihood to herself and her family.
