After losing her job and regular income Vesna decided to start her own business – shoelace production. When the German humanitarian organization HELP, in November 2005, started its project in Pirot, she applied for the in-kind grant. Prior to the shoelace machine production import, Vesna managed to register her shop SZR TETIDA, establish business relations and sign contracts on supply of TIGAR Co. and several small family shoe shops from Pirot and nearby Bela Palanka. She sent product samples to LEDA shoe factory from Knjazevac, whose complete production line is being exported to Italy, and is currently negotiating with them for cooperation.
These contracts might mean employment of one or two new employees, as well as the expansion of the assortment to the flat shoelaces for which she might also need an additional investment.
The most important is that Vesna has a very clear vision of her business activity – having a quality product, with an additional assortment and competitive prices to cover south-eastern Serbia market.
