European Union continues micro and small businesses revival in Obrenovac

Within the European Union flood assistance programme in Serbia, Help signed new grant contracts with the owners of agriculture households and entrepreneurs in Obrenovac on 6 April 2017.
Grant contracts for revival of income generating activities signed by 87 beneficiaries, 38 farmers and 49 entrepreneurs (hairdressers, beauty salons, bookkeepers, restaurants, warehouse…) in the second phase of the EU flood assistance implemented by Help in Obrenovac amounts to 150,000 EUR. Thus total value of the EU assistance provided through Help in Obrenovac reaches 1.300,000 EUR in Obrenovac for the reconstruction of 212 homes, 9 prefabricated houses equipped with the basic furniture and appliances, and 218 beneficiaries of the micro and small businesses and farmers.
EU flood assistance relief in Serbia implemented by ASB, DRC and Help is aimed at the construction and reconstruction of homes and assistance to the revival of income generating activities – micro businesses and farmers.

The European Union Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia programme is a 78-milion Euros Programme funded by the European Union. The overall objective of this action is to contribute to the efforts of the Government of Serbia to support the municipalities to restore living and working conditions, through the construction of new homes, the reconstruction of public institutions, private homes and roads and the revival of economy and agriculture in 43 municipalities hit hardest by the floods: Aleksinac, Arandjelovac, Bajina Basta, Boljevac, Gornji Milanovac, Ivanjica, Jagodina, Kladovo, Knic, Knjazevac, Koceljeva, Kosjeric, Kovacica, Kraljevo, Krupanj, Lazarevac, Loznica, Majdanpek, Mali Zvornik, Medvedja, Negotin, Novi Beograd, Obrenovac, Osecina, Paracin, Pozega, Sjenica, Smederevska Palanka, Surdulica, Svilajnac, Svrljig, Sabac, Sid, Ub, Uzice, Valjevo, Vladicin Han and Zajeccar.
Seven partners are implementing the Programme in the field – the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the United Nations Organization for Food and Agriculture (FAO), the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the World Bank (WB), the Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. (Help), Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland e.V. (ASB) and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) – in cooperation with the Government of Serbia’s Office for Public Investment Management (PIMO) and the European Integration Office (SEIO).
