Help team visit to refugee camps in Greece

Mid of March Help team visited refugee camps in Greece. There are hundreds of small tents placed on both sides of the railway in protest for border’s closure.

In every tent an entire family with small kids mostly. Tents in thick layer of mud on rainy days and even thicker layer of dust and dried dirt on sunny days cover area of once small tourist village Idomeni on the North of Greece bordering to Macedonia.

Almost half of all refugees and migrants are in the north region of Greece. The main problem in most of the camps is lack of infrastructure and space for setting up/constructing appropriate shelter. Hence the rub halls sprout in many camps (erected by MSF, UNHCR, IRC) in order to improve conditions, especially hygiene and provide urgent assistance and medical care.
