New beneficiaries and Help project in Pirot

On July 13th, 2016, in the City of Pirot a cooperation agreement on a new project was signed by Help Programme Manager Ms. Masa Bubanj and Pirot Mayor Mr. Vladan Vasic in the presence of the Help Board member Mr. Klaus Jürgen Hedrich. On that occasion Bubanj and Vasic also handed over new grant contracts to the 16 final beneficiaries within the current project.

Help and the City of Pirot cooperation on employment and micro and small businesses development continues with the project ” Support to micro businesses in Serbia II ” At least 30 micro and small businesses will have the opportunity to start-up businesses and employ new people, through in-kind grants.

While, within the ongoing project “Poverty reduction and enhancement of employment opportunities of marginalized and vulnerable population groups in Serbia” additional 16 grant contracts for self-employment were delivered. In the project implemented by Help in cooperation with Pirot from May 2013 until end of 2016, so far 82 beneficiaries were supported, 39 with in-kind grants average value of 2400 EUR and 43 beneficiaries with in-kind grants in average value of 1200 EUR, in addition to the two cooperatives one for recycling and one of the beekeepers.

This is 9th project cycle between Help and Pirot. There are recently renewed Health Centre Ambulance , medical equipment, medical vehicle fully equipped for urgent assistance in the field, but also possibilities considered for adaptation of a facility for temporary accommodation and registration of migrants in transit, financed by the EU. For all these years of cooperation support to income generation activities in Pirot came from German funds – three cooperatives (ironed sausage, recycling, beekeepers), 379 beneficiaries, many business and vocational trainings and education, networking of not only the supported beneficiaries but also other relevant stakeholder in the process of poverty reduction, employment and micro and small businesses development.
