Cooperation agreement with Sombor
Sombor Mayor Sasa Todorovic and Help Serbia Country Director Aleksandra Brkic signed cooperation agreement within the project “Stabilisation of the health situation for migrants/ refugees and the local population”.
The agreement envisages construction of a facility 550m2, in the lot owned by the City, provided with infrastructure. With the assistance of the Federal Ministry for economic cooperation and development, Help will provide technical and financial support in the amount of 180.000,00 EUR for the construction of the facility.
During the migration crisis, the centre is intended for accommodation of up to 100 migrants/refugees. Most importantly, in the long run, the centre will be used for care of vulnerable categories of local population like elderly, but also for educational purposes and accommodation of school children, said Mayor Todorovic.
The goal of the project is increasing the overall capacity for temporary accommodation and provision of medical services through reconstruction of the one stop centres for migrants/refugees and health centres and houses in the Republic of Serbia.
Total value of the assistance provided by Help and German Government in Sombor, within this project, amounts to over 300.000,00 EUR. In addition to the construction of the above mentioned facility, there is also reconstruction of the ER of the Health Centre, procurement of the medical equipment, and furnishing of the Red Cross public kitchen.
