German Embassy donates pulse oximeters to the Clinics for Anaesthesia of the Clinical Center Nis

With the support of the German Embassy in Serbia, within the German development cooperation, the organisation Help donated four, while the equipment supplier, the company DEM from Novi Sad, donated two more, portable pulse oximeters for the needs of the Clinic for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care of the Clinical Centre Nis.

As a part of its engagement in supporting local communities and the population, especially in times of crisis, the German Embassy responded to the needs of the Clinical Centre Nis wearing the heaviest burden during the COVID19 epidemics and treated a large number of patients with the severe clinical condition.

“Today is a really big day for the Clinical Centre Nis, today we receive another valuable donation that was initiated at a difficult time for the Clinical Centre Nis when it bent under the pressure of a large number of patients.

These monitoring systems for the safe transport of our patients from the intensive care units and require additional diagnostics like the scanner, MRI, or some endoscopic procedures, so this will certainly further improve the safety of our patients, adult and children.” says Assistant Director of the Clinical Centre Nis and director of the Clinics for Anaesthesia, prof. dr. Radmilo Jankovic.

Portable monitors for observing basic vital functions play a major role in the safe transport of intensive care patients’ in need of additional diagnostics between the units. The monitors are used in daily work in intensive care and pediatric anaesthesia.

The Clinics for Anaesthesia has borne a heavy burden in this period and the equipment received thanks to the German Embassy within the German development cooperation, but also to the company of the supplier DEM Novi Sad, significantly contributes to the efficient and quality work with patients.

Help continues to work on development projects and react in times of crisis like this donation and numerous assistance with the support of several donors to our most vulnerable citizens.” Said Masa Bubanj, Help Senior Manager for Economic Development.

The total value of the equipment, six portable pulse oximeters with sets of sensors, adapters and cannulas is almost three million dinars (25.423,35 EUR) of which four devices with associated equipment is the donation from the Federal Republic of Germany worth 20.926,22 EUR.
