Help continues to support inclusion and economic empowerment in Pirot
The info campaign is ongoing!
As part of Help’s regional programme “Inclusion and Economic Empowerment in the Western Balkans”, on April 24, 2023 Help signed a new cooperation agreement with the City of Pirot for a project whose implementation will enable at least 25 new micro and small “green” businesses in the territory of Pirot.
When signing the contract, Mayor Vladan Vasic recalled the beginnings of cooperation with Help in 2015:
“We were thinking about how we from the local self-government can empower our entrepreneurs and those who are thinking of taking their destiny into their own hands, to help them start their economic activity. Today, we have an array of successful stories that, whit the assistance of Help and their support, are now successful entrepreneurs who earn their basic income or supplement their household budget,” said Vasic.
The new Head of the Help Nis Office Ms Sanja Mitic, highlighted the novelty brought in by this program, after a nearly three-year break from income-generating activities in Pirot.
“What is new is that the donation has been increased from 2,400 to 3,000 euros per beneficiary and that with this project we are focusing on the “green” grants. This means that the emphasis will be on ideas for crafts and services accountable for energy efficiency and environmental protection. As before, priority is given to unemployed youth and women, and all those who belong to less employable categories of the population” said Mitic.
Anyone interested in starting their own business activity can get detailed information about the project and its implementation at the project presentations during Help’s info campaign in Pirot from the end of April to the middle of May.
