New homes for 32 families

Within a more comprehensive programme funded by the European Union supporting the improvement of living conditions of forced migrants, Help provided housing solutions to 32 families in cooperation with the City Municipality of Cukarica, Belgrade.

The City Municipality of Cukarica completed construction of roads’ access and connection of 17 prefabricated houses with 32 housing units to the water supply and electricity network during the spring of 2020. This enabled 25 IDP families from the informal collective centre “JKP Parking servis Ada” at Ada Ciganlija, and seven local socially vulnerable population families, beneficiaries fo the Centre for Social Welfare of City Municipality Cukarica, to finally move into their new homes. The housing units were equipped with basic household appliances and furniture for the tenants.

Each family has signed the contract with the City Municipality Cukarica on using the housing units free of charge while in need. So they do not pay the rent, only the utility services like water and electricity.

Within the EU funded project “Support to the improvement of living conditions of forced migrants and closure of collective centres”, Help provided housing solutions for 115 families from Belgrade, Vranje, Ub and Sjenica.
