Social housing for a better life cooperation contract signed with the Cukarica municipality

Housing solutions for internally displaced persons from non-formal collective centre “Parking servis Ada Ciganlija” in Belgrade.

Within the programme of the European Union “Support for improvement of the living conditions of forced migrants and closure of collective centres”, cooperation contract was signed with the Municipality of Cukarica on 17 May 2016. The Memorandum signed between Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Municipality of Cukarica and Help, envisage cooperation between signatories on provision of housing solutions for internally displaced persons from non-formal collective centre “Parking servis Ada Ciganlija” Belgrade and domicile poor.

Through the construction of 32 prefabricated houses, foreseen by the project, appropriate accommodation will be provided for 22 IDP and 10 local socially vulnerable families from Cukarica municipality.

Thirty-two prefabricated houses will be built on locations provided by the Municipality of Cukarica with adequate communal infrastructure, road network, necessary urban and project documentation. The project is part of a more comprehensive program funded by the European Union supporting improvement of living conditions of forced migrants – “For A Better Life”, with the total value of 14.2 million euro.

The organisation Help in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration is implementing activities on provision of housing solutions for beneficiaries form the collectives centres (formal and non-formal) in Belgrade, Ub, Sjenica and Vranje for total of 118 refugees, internally displaced and domicile poor.
