With eu assistance help signed 175 reconstruction contracts in Obrenovac

Within the EU programme for flood relief in Serbia, Help signed 175 donation contracts on reconstruction of houses in Obrenovac on 25 April.

The EU assistance for flood relief, implemented by ASB, DRC and Help in Serbia, aims at construction and reconstruction of houses and assistance to micro and small enterprises and farmers.

Part of the EU programme implemented by Help in Obrenovac, is worth 1,3 million EUR to support the reconstruction of 175 houses and 12 apartments, six prefabricated houses, and support to 140 micro and small enterprises and farmers trough in-kind grants, i.e. equipment to revive their business activities.

EU Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme, worth 78 million EUR, is financed by the European Union under the IPA pre-accession funds. The money is allocated for construction of
new homes, reconstruction of public buildings, private homes, roads as well as economy and agriculture recovery in 43 municipalities most affected by floods: Aleksinac, Arandjelovac, Bajina
Basta, Boljevac, Gornji Milanovac, Ivanjica, Jagodina, Kladovo, Knic, Knjazevac, Koceljeva, Kosjeric, Kovacica, Kraljevo, Krupanj, Lazarevac, Loznica, Majdanpek, Mali Zvornik, Medvedja, Negotin, Novi Beograd, Obrenovac, Osecina, Paracin, Pozega, Sjenica, Smederevska Palanka, Surdulica, Svilajnac, Svrljig, Sabac, Sid, Ub, Uzice, Valjevo, Vladicin Han i Zajecar. All activities on the ground are carried out by the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS), UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), organisations Help, ASB, DRC, Austrian Development Agency and World Bank – in coordination with Government’s Office for Assistance and Reconstruction of Flooded Areas.
