Together with the Red Cross of Serbia, we supported the most vulnerable
Help, in cooperation with the Serbian Red Cross, realized the distribution of food and hygiene packages to the most endangered families.
The coronavirus crisis in Serbia has hit the most vulnerable households whose incomes depend on social benefits. That is why Help, in cooperation with the Serbian Red Cross, realized the distribution of food and hygiene packages to the most endangered families.
Household members are persons with disabilities and developmental disabilities and residents of substandard settlements in six cities and municipalities in Serbia (Novi Pazar, Nis, Pirot, Knjazevac, Gadzin Han, Vladicin Han).
The micro-distribution of 1000 packages of food and 1000 packages of hygiene products was performed by local organizations of the Serbian Red Cross during December 2020. 3,223 individuals live in a thousand households. The food package contains flour, sugar, oil, pasta, rice, beans and dry biscuits. Hygiene packages consist of laundry detergent, soap, dishwashing detergent, disinfectant and a pack of 20 protective masks. Some of the families live in remote places but the distribution went smoothly despite the winter and inaccessible terrain.
The total value of donated packages is almost 42 thousand euros.
This assistance in response to the COVID-19 crisis was realized within the Help project "Support to Socio-Economic Stability in the Western Balkans 2019-2020" thanks to the support of the German government within the German Development Cooperation.
