Social housing for a better life twelve families moves in to the new homes in Ub
Within the EU supported project “For a better life” – Support to improvement of living conditions of forced migrants and closure of collective centres” twelve families moved in to the new apartments and prefabricated houses in Ub.
The Ub Municipality President Darko Glisic, the EU Delegation to Serbia representative Brigitte Kuchar and Assistant Commissioner Ivan Gerginov, together with the Help Regional Coordinator Klaus Mock, handed the keys to the representatives of the families.
New homes for the ten families from the collective centre TE-TO Kolubara and two socially vulnerable local families, constructed on the location provided by the Municipality of Ub, have been equipped with the basic furniture and appliances.
Within the EU project supporting improvement of the living conditions of the forced migrants in the Municipality of Ub will be delivered 31 housing solution worth nearly half a million Euros.
The project is part of a more comprehensive program funded by the European Union supporting improvement of living conditions of forced migrants – “For A Better Life”, with the total value of 14.2 million Euros.
The organization Help is implementing activities on provision of housing solutions for beneficiaries from the formal and non-formal collective centres in Serbia for 45 families in Belgrade, 31 in Ub and 11 in Vranje in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia.
