Support to primary schools in Vranje

Kitchen equipment, carpentry and floors for more energy-efficient classrooms and better educational conditions.

"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today."

Primary School “Bora Stankovic” in Tibuzde village, then “Branislav Nusic” in Rataje village, and “Vuk Karadzic in Vranje, all three belong to the administrative area of the City of Vranje. The schools on average have 235 pupils and 70 employees. They often work in poor conditions and struggle with major investments and maintenance. Having nearly half of the pupils from the socially most vulnerable families, including Roma, it was of the utmost importance to provide the work and studying conditions.

In Tibuzde Village, the school had had the carpentry and floors replacement which made it significantly more energy efficient. In Rataje Village, as well. The poor carpentry used to waste energy, making it impossible to heat the premises in winter. The new carpentry which was replaced within the existing project design and building permit by modern standards has reduced the energy consumption as well as the overall costs.

The school in Vranje was supplied with professional kitchen elements and equipment to facilitate safety and health preservation during the preparation and distribution of dietary controlled food in the school.

The equipment and works, total value 50.986,00 EUR, were carried out within the Help project "Management of Migration and Support to the Return of Asylum Seekers II", which is part of the global program "Migration for Development" (PME) funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
